1956 New group established: Atomic Power Constructions Ltd, to tender for nuclear power plant contracts; jointly owned by Richardsons, Westgarth and Co, International Combustion (Holdings) Ltd and Crompton Parkinson Ltd[1].

1959 After discussions between GEC-Simon-Carves-Atomic Power Group and Atomic Power Constructions Ltd, the 2 groups agreed to collaborate on the design and construction of nuclear power stations. The two groups would submit joint tenders for the Dungeness power station[2].
1969 Substantial losses on the Dungeness nuclear power plant contract.
1969 "Only nominally in business"[3]. International Combustion (Holdings) Ltd and Fairey Engineering dropped out of the reorganization of the nuclear industry. British Nuclear Design and Construction would manage completion of Dungeness B, which would remain in APC's name [4]
