of 3 Campbell Street, Leicester

1912 'Demonstration In Leicester. About 150 shoe manufacturers' foremen attended a meeting at the Scaracen's head Hotel, Leicester, on Wednesday, to witness a demonstration of a new foot and length measuring machine, and to hear a lecture thereon by Mr. A. H. Church. The machine, which is known as a "Pedograde," is designed to eliminate what is known in the trade as "misfits." By its use the shoe salesman is enabled to ascertain the exact size, fitting, and shape of the foot, which are all recorded on the dial of the machine, and to select from his stock the size and type of boot best constructed to give absolute comfort to the wearer....'[1]

1912-14 The perdograde machine for accurate measurements of individual feet to provide data for footwear, was re-designed by P. A. Bentley.

1920 Shares of the business were acquired by Ekins, Son and Percival to acquire the patents of Alfred Harry Church (a former director).[2]
