1834 May 26th. Baptised, of Edwards Street, Shoreditch, the son of William Henry Tilley, a gas fitter, and his wife Rachel.[1]
1851 Living at 4 Edward Street, Shoreditch: William Tilley (age 42 born Newport, Bucks), Gas Fitter. With his wife Mary Tilley (age 52 born Rufford?, Northants.) and their three sons; Thomas Tilley (age 19 born Shoreditch), Gas Fitter; William Tilley (age 17 born Shoreditch), Gas Fitter; and John Tilley (age 11 born Shoreditch).[2]
1859 Married Emma Julia Chattin in Woodbridge.[3] 'William Henry, second son of Mr. W. H. Tilley, of London, to Emma Julia, eldest daughter of Mr. James Chattin, of Walton.'[4]
