1909. Swansea harbour and docks.

1851 Mr. James Abernethy was appointed Chief port of Swansea, he converted part of the tidal harbour into a floating dock.

1858 Abernethy constructed the South Dock, followed by the Prince of Wales Dock in 1881

1862 Abernethy presented to the Institution of Civil Engineers a Paper describing the South Dock at Swansea and his works at Blyth and at Silloth.

1893 Abernethy furnished designs for a new dock
