Apprenticed to the Wolseley Tool and Sheep Shearing Co
1910 Interested in aviation and connected with Hendon Aerodrome
1912 First contract with William Morris to sell their cars leads to the founding of Stewart and Ardern
1952 Died. 'Mr. Gordon Stewart, managing director of Stewart and Ardern, the car sales firm, died suddenly on Monday night. He was 67. Mr. Stewart was giving a magic lantern show at the home of Dr. and Mrs. R. H. Moody. of Send. Surrey. He collapsed and died within a few minutes. Mr. Stewart who had lived at Send Manor near Woking for nearly 30 years was an old friend of Lord Nuffield. It was Mr. Stewart who (with Mr. Arden) started the sale of Morris cars.'[1]
