1900 The company was registered on 1 November, to take over the Workington Haematite Iron and Steel Co. [1]

1909 The business was transferred to a new company, the Workington Iron and Steel Co Ltd, which also took over several other companies, including the Solway Works. The plant operated until 1927[2]
