1836 Director of the Taff Vale Railway

1850 Director of the Portbury Pier and Railway Co.[1]

1863 Director of the Bristol and Portishead Pier and Railway Co.[2]

1864 Director of the Freehold and General Investment Co. Of Bristol and director of the Bristol and Exeter Railway.[3]

1865 Of Weston-super-Mere and Bristol. Director of the Financial Assurance Co and the Bristol and Exeter Railway.[4]

1866 Director of the Bristol and Exeter Railway and the South Devon Railway

1868 Director of the Bristol and Exeter Railway and of the South Devon Railway. William Watson, Burngrove, Weston-super-Mere. He is not listed for either railway company in the following year.[5]

1870 Died. 'The death is announced, at the advanced age of 82 years, of Mr. William Watson, formerly an eminent wine merchant of this city, and who conducted the important firm now carried on Broad-street Messrs. Edward Phillips and Co. The deceased gentleman, who was a strong Conservative in politics, was one of the first aldermen elected after the passing of the Municipal Reform Act, and he served in the Council for some years.'[6]

1870 February 03rd. Died. Formerly of Weston-super-Mere but late of Arch House, College Green, Bristol. Probate to William Scott Watson and Revd. Henry Watson.
