1889 Patent. US-Patent for William Starley and H. S. Owen, #415.072, Nov 12th, 1889, for a Tandem Bicycle.

1911 Living at 14 St Pauls Road, Coventry:

William Starley (age 52 born Lewisham), Cycle Mechanic - Widower. With his two sons Harold Starley (age 32 born Coventry), Cycle Mechanic, and John Starley (age 16 born Coventry), Motor Mechanic. Also his mother-in-law Eleanor Brownfield (age 74 born Coventry).[1]
