William Sims (1762-1834
c1815 Leading engineer of the Eastern Mines bought a half share in the pole patents of Richard Trevithick. Probably an agent for Michael Williams of United Mines and later MP for West Cornwall.
With Trevithick he compounded engines at Wheal Chance and Treskerby Mine
Later, and on his own, after Trevithick had left for Peru, he compounded engines at United Mines, Williams, Wheal Damsel and United Mines, Poldory
1834. Death. 'At his residence, White Hall, Cornwall, William Sims Esq., civil engineer, aged 72 years'[1]
