WILLIAM MORRIS, born in 1837, died at Buxton on the 14th October, 1915.
He had been upwards of 50 years in the service successively of the Kent Water Company and the Metropolitan Water Board, retiring in 1909 to live at Brockley.
Trained under his father, the late Mr. W. R. Morris, in the service of the Kent Water Company, he eventually succeeded him as Engineer, and later became District Engineer to the Metropolitan Water Board.
During his tenure of office the Kent Waterworks underwent considerable expansion, some aspects of which were described in Papers contributed by him to the Proceedings.
He was elected an Associate on the 1st March, 1870, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 11th December, 1877.
