1851 William Knighton 27, moulder, lived in Staveley with Hannah Knighton 28, Elizabeth Knighton 6, Henry Knighton 16, moulder, Benjaman Knighton 11[2]

1861 William Knighton 37, ironfounder, lived in Eckington, Chesterfield with Hannah Knighton 38, Elizabeth Knighton 16, Joseph Knighton 10, Hannah M Knighton 4, George H Knighton 2[3]

1868 Patent to Charles Markham and William Knighton, of the Staveley Coal and Iron Works, near Chesterfield, in the county of Derby, Engineers, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in apparatus for moulding pipes and other cylinders."[4]
