William John Norton (1887-1981), B.A., A.M.I.C.E., of James Farmer and Sons

1887 Born at Huddersfield the son of George Pepler Norton, an Accountant.

Educated at Shrewsbury School and Caius College, Cambridge

1908-11 Apprentice to Sir James Farmer

1911 Living at Birkby Lodge, Huddersfield: William John Norton (age 23 born Huddersfield), Mechanical Engineer. With his parents and younger brother.[1]

1911 Joint MD of the engineering works of Sir James Farmer and Sons

1915 Elected Associate of the Inst of Civil Engineers

1981 Died in Manchester[2]
