William Huxham (c1774-1839) of Exeter Iron Co

c1774 Born the son of George Huxham and his wife Mary Vavasour

c1805 Birth of son Frederick Huxham

1811 Birth of daughter Mary Vavasour Hexham (1811-1886) who married James Armitage Brown

c1818 Birth of son Charles Huxham

1818 Bankrupt. William Huxham, of the City of Exeter, Ironfounder, Dealer and Chapman.[1]

1819 Long letter concerning the beating of his son by the master of the school and the action he took against it.[2]

1822 Patent. Improvements in the construction of roofs.[3]

1839 August 27th. Died. 'It is with deep regret that have to announce the sudden death of Mr. William Huxham, ironfounder, of this city, His demise took place on Tuesday night and was totally unexpected by his family, as he was in good health and spirits when he retired to rest and they left him up. He was however seized with a fit on going up to bed which awoke his family, but its effects appeared transient and comparatively slight, and he ably revived. In the morning he was found dead his bed.'[4] Age 65.[5]
