1838 Born in Sneiton, Notts., the son of Thomas Hooton, a Lace drawer, and his wife Sarah Gray

1865 Married in Nottingham to Hannah Harvey

1869 Birth of son William Arthur Hooton

1891 Living in Nottingham, a Lace Machine Builder and Employer.[1]

1899 February. Died. 'The late Mr. William Hooton, whose funeral takes place to-day in the General Cemetery, was a highly respected employer, and the employees of the Continental works are going to follow the funeral. Many of the men have been at the works for periods varying from twenty thirty years.'[2]
