William Hawthorn (1799-1875) of R. and W. Hawthorn

1799 Born in Newburn, Northumberland, son of Robert Hawthorn and his wife Alice Burn[1]

1818 Joined his brother Robert Hawthorn in his business as an assistant and working foreman in the works.

1820 Became junior partner in the new firm of R. and W. Hawthorn

1841 Engineer, living in Westgate, Newcastle[2]

1851 Visitor in Brighton (another visitor in the same property was Countess Lovelace

1861 William Hawthorn 61, an engineer, living in Westgate, Newcastle, with Ann Hawthorn 56, Helen Holmes Hawthorn 29, William Hawthorn 21, engineer[3]

1866 of Forth Banks, Newcastle-on-Tyne

1867 Continued to run the business after the death of Robert.

1870 Retired from business.

1872 of 92 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne.

1875 Died in Benwell[4]
