1918 Awarded OBE. 'Major William Edward Plaister, the Royal Air Force, who was mentioned in the list of new members of the Order of the British Empire, is the surviving partner in the firm of the Brunswick Engineering Company, Grosvenor Road and Franklyn Street, Bristol. Major Plaister is son of Dr. W. H. Plaister, of Tottenham, London, and a nephew of Mrs Chaffey Glyde, of Portishead.'[2]
