Born in 1820 at Compton Giffard, near Plymouth.

1851 William E Rendle 31, Commissioner of Improvement, Nurseryman, head of manure merchants, employing 24 men, 2 women and 4 boys, lived in Plymouth with Fanny Rendle 31, William E Rendle 9, Fanny Rendle 7, Emilie J E Rendle 6, John E Rendle 4, Rosalie Rendle 2[1]

1861 A gentlemen, boarding at the Great Western Hotel, Paddington[2]

1870 Patent granted to William Edgcumbe Rendle, of No. 68, Welbeck-street, Cavendish-square, in the county of Middlesex, Librarian, for the invention of "improvements in glazed structuresfor horticultural purposes,"

1881 A railway contractor, died at Eastbourne[6] after illness. [7] His sons were John Edgcumbe Rendle and Frank Bullen Rendle, contractors.
