1805 June 8th. Married Charlotte Elizabeth Barker. 'On Saturday last, at St. Paul's, Covent garden, Mr. Wm. Courtney, of the Old Jewry, to Miss Charlotte Elizabeth Barker, of Brock Green.'[1] Presumably she was the daughter of Charles Barker

1846 June 15th. Death of his wife. 'at No. 54 Oxford terrace, Hyde Park, Elizabeth the wife of William Courtney Esq., in her 62nd year.'[2]
1851 Living at 54 Oxford Terrace, Paddington: William Courtney (age 68 born America - British subject), Coach Maker - Widower. With his children (some appear to be his grand-children) William C. Courtney (age 42 born London), Coach Maker - Widower; Alice Courtney (age 5 born London); Rose Courtney (age 3 born London); Julia Courtney (age 9 Months born London); and Eleanor Courtney (age 2 born London). Six servants.[3]
1852 April 11th. Died. 'In his 70th year, William Courtney esq., of Oxford terrace, Hyde Park, and of Chandos Street, Covent Garden.'[4]
His will is held in the National Archives.[5]
