William Canute Bodley (1832-1876) of A. and W. C. Bodley

c1832 Born at Exeter the son of Alfred Bodley, Iron founder, and his wife Mary Hutchings

1851 Living at Meadow lane, Hunslett, Leeds: Chas Walton (age 42 born Halifax), Machine maker. With his wife Catherine Walton (age 46 born Tipperary, Ireland) and their four children; Chas Vincent Walton (age 17 born Holbeck), Machine maker; John Thos Walton (age 8 born Holbeck); Cornelius Walton (age 6 born Holbeck); and Elizth Ann Walton (age 10 born Holbeck). Also a lodger W. C. Bodley (age 19 born Exeter), Machine maker. One servant.[1]

1855 Married at Liverpool to Mary Critchley (1836-1875) and had ten children

1861 Living at 8 Improvement Place, Exeter: William Canute Bodley (age 29 born Exeter), Mechanical Engineer. With his wife Mary Bodley (age 26 born Newton-le-Willows) and their children; William George Bodley (age 5 born Lancs.); Mary Rhoda Critchley Bodley (age 2 born Exeter); and James John Bodley (age 7 months born Exeter).[2]

1876 February 19th. Died. Of Exeter, Ironfounder. Will proved by Owen Arthur Bodley, Ironfounder and brother, Frederick Henry Brock, Engineer and Charles Ashford, Accountant.
