1844 Advert: 'The extensive and important Sale, in Dundee, of valuable FLAX and TOW SPINNING MACHINERY, MECHANICS' TOOLS, &c., which was formerly advertised to take place on the 27th February last, will be proceeded with, within the Spinning Mills, at the WEST WARDS, DUNDEE, lately occupied by Mr. William Boyack, Flax Spinner, .... the machinery included carding engines, spinning frames, hackling machines, lathes, planing machines, fluting engines, wheel cutting and screwing machines. Catalogues furnished on application to Mr. John Kerr, Millwright and Machine-maker, Dundee.'[1]
