Wigan Branch Railway
A 7-mile line that ran from Parkside, just east of Newton on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway to Wigan via Golborne. It also had a three mile branch to several local collieries.
It was sanctioned in 1830.[1]
It opened in 1832 and in 1834 it merged with the Preston and Wigan Railway to form the Northern Union Railway
