WILLIAM REGINALD WADE was a Yorkshireman by birth and was educated at Bradford Grammar School.
In 1888, at the age of eighteen, he was articled to the late Mr. Frederick Beasley of Westminster.
In 1891 he was appointed resident engineer on drainage works at Rio de Janeiro, in 1894 was engaged in the construction of the Blandford Water Works.
In 1897 Mr. Wade became resident engineer of the Hampton main drainage works, where he erected eight pneumatic pumping stations.
After carrying out the main drainage scheme at Frinton-on-Sea in the following year, he was employed on similar works as resident engineer at Pembroke Dock and at Chertsey.
During the War he acted as Inspector of Aeroplanes, but his health failing, he confined himself subsequently to practical work in the development of wireless telegraphy.
Mr. Wade became a Member of this Institution in 1906.
He died on 15th November 1926.
