1948 Mr Walker, a pork butcher in Leicester, began making potato crisps when all of his meat was sold early in day because of rationing.[1]

1971 Sold their crisps business Walkers to US-based Standard Brands

The pie making business became the largest distributor of Melton Mowbray pork pies.

1986 Samworth Brothers purchased the pie making company of Walker and Son.

Walkers Crisps were acquired by PepsiCo

1989 Walkers Crisps Holdings Ltd

1992 Walkers Smiths Snack Foods Ltd

1995 Walkers Snack Foods Ltd

by 2006 Walkers Crisps dominated the crisps market in the UK (45.5 percent)
