1885 Richard Elihu Dickinson was appointed manager

1887 Dickinson left

1891 The Tubular Frame Wagon Co, involving Colonel North, acquired the Vulcan Steel and Forge Works at Barrow to make a new type of bogie railway rolling stock on American lines[1]
