1960 Merger of [1]

The combined company would be called Northern Breweries Ltd

1960 Northern was renamed as United Breweries, taking in:[2]

Acquired James Calder and Co (Alloa) and had made offers for Ulster Brewery Co and J. G. Thomson and Co, wine and spirit merchants of Leith and Glasgow.

1961 Acquired Cornbrook Brewery Co.

1961 The Scottish Management Company was renamed United Caledonian Breweries[3]

1962 Merger of Charrington and Co and United Breweries to form Charrington United Breweries[4]
