1909 Company founded to produce detachable superheaters for Lancashire type boilers

1930 Patent - Improvements in or relating to means for jointing steam superheater or like pipes to headers. [1]

1937 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Steam Superheaters as applied to Lancashire Boilers, together with various types of Superheater attachments. Flanged Joints and welded specimens as fabricated in solid drawn steel. Pipework for various pressure requirements. (Stand No. D.206) [2]

1940 Patent - Improvements in or relating to closures for hand-holes in vessels adapted to contain fluid under high pressure. [3]

2004 Unit Superheaters was acquired by Unit Engineers and Constructors, bringing together fabrication, mechanical construction and maintenance expertise with specialist engineering services.

2010 the Unit Group acquired Birwelco, adding engineering design, global project management and procurement and patented flare systems, to create one of the UK’s only true EPCM contractors.
