of Douglas Foundry, Dundee

Umpherston and Kerr was the first firm in Dundee to give great impetus to millwright work

Their millwright work produced was introduced into all parts of the country and abroad, whereve there were corn and flour mills, water wheels, and need for genersl millwright work.

Later became John Kerr and Co

By 1867 was Thomson Brothers and Co
