Towler Brothers (Patents) Ltd, hydraulic pump manufacturers of Rodley, nr Leeds

Frank and John Towler worked for Leeds Engineering and Hydraulic Co, which produced slow speed hydraulic pumps and equipment.

1931 Frank and John Towler formed Electraulic Presses Limited

Later they bought a controlling interest in Leeds Engineering and Hydraulic Co

1935 Towler Brothers (Patents) Ltd was formed by Frank and John to exploit the newly developing market of the changeover from water to oil as a medium for transmitting power. They were pioneers in the field, especially to operate the systems at much higher pressures, although this was not an easy sell.

1958 Metal Industries acquired Towler Brothers (Patents) Ltd including its subsidiary Electraulic Presses[1].

1960 Towler Brothers was working with Brookhirst on a joint development[2].
