'...we the undersigned, Thomas Thompson, William Swift, and Joseph Cole, carrying on business in Copartnership of Brass and Iron-Founder, at Little Bolton, in the County of Lancaster, and also as Deli-men and Stone-Getters, at Halliwell, in the said county under the firm of Thompson, Swift and Cole, have this day mutualy dissolved the said Copartnership so far as regards the said William Swift, who retires from the said concern; all debts will be received and paid by the said Thomas Thompson and Joseph Cole, by whom the said business or respective -businesses will in future be carried on...'[3]
