1873-5 Trained in the drawing office of James Samuel M Inst C E, consulting engineer of the Great Eastern Railway and the Mexican Railway
1875-1904 Assistant to Sir William Shelford
Design and constructed the Hull and Barnsley Railway in conjunction with W. Shelford. Also in connection with the construction and equipment of the West African Railways.
1881 Married Agnes Jane Clark in Southwark[1]
1886-90 Engineer of the Sicilian Sulphur Co
1896-1903 Manager of the Roller Bearings Co
1898 Thomas H. How was described as secretary of the Roller-Bearings Co, London.
1903-11 subsequently Managing Director of the Empire Roller Bearings Co., of Westminster, with works at King's Lynn.
1904 Responsible for selection and appointment of staff for the operation of the West African Railways.
1904-16 In practice on his own account as Consulting Engineer at 15-17, Victoria Street, S.W.1, on tramway construction and water supply.
1909-11 Joint MD of the Horsfall Destructor Co of Pershore
1912 Member of I Mech E
WWI Superintending Engineer for south-east and south-west districts of London for Ministry of Munitions, in charge of four Government Bonds for inspection of shells, and as Assistant Inspector attached to Royal Arsenal, Woolwich.
1916 Married Helen Read, of Denmark Hill, S.E.
1922 Mechanical and Consulting Engineer, 13, Victoria Street, Westminster, London, S.W.1
