Thomas Shaw Brandreth: Cyclopede

From Graces Guide

Cyclopede (sometimes Cycloped) was an early horse-powered locomotive, built by Thomas Shaw Brandreth of Liverpool, which competed unsuccessfully in the Rainhill Trials of October 1829.

It was the first to drop out of the competition. Built with "legacy technology", it used a horse walking on a drive belt for power but was disqualified as it did not agree with the stipulations and conditions of the trial.
