Sir Thomas George Augustus Parkyns (c1820-1895)
1820 Born in Dordogne, France the son of Thomas Boultbee Parkyns and his wife Charlotte Mary Smith
1881 Living at Stapleton, Beckenham, Kent: Thomas G. A. (Sir) Parkyns (age 61 born France), Baronet, Underwriter at Lloyds, Inventing but not Practical Engineer. With his wife Annie Parkyns (age 55 born Loughborough) and their two daughters Charlotte Ada Parkyns (age 27 born Buddington, Notts.) and Katherine Beatrice Parkyns (age 19 born Buddington, Notts.). Three servants.[1]
1881 Showed a steam driven tricycle at the 1881 Stanley Club Show.[2] The steam tricycle was designed and built by Parkyns of Beckenham and Arthur H. Bateman of East Greenwich, and weighed 220lb with a small steam engine.
1895 Died.
