THOMAS MUSGRAVE HEAPHY, born in London in 1843, died at St. Leonards-on-Sea on the 29th March, 1910.
Trained on the staff of the late Mr. William Wilson, he later engaged in consulting practice.
In 1874 he was appointed scientific adviser, engineer and inspector to the Phoenix Fire Office, and was the author of the Phoenix rules for electric-light and power installations.
As a consulting engineer, he designed a large number of electrical installations.
He retired in 1904.
Mr. Heaphy was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 6th February, 1893.
