Later his son (Frank) Philip Ellis took on the business, which then made only a few types of saws. The business concentrated on high quality saws (whose manufacturing might have died off otherwise).

1999 Acquired E. Garlick and Son, maker of Lynx saws.

2008 Acquired the Roberts and Lee saw company. This was the last other known saw manufacturers in the UK, with its origins based in Enfield, near London, making the Dorchester saw.

2014 Thomas Flinn and Co Ltd incorporated as a private company[1]

2014 Added Hand Planes to the range of goods manufactured by acquiring Clifton Planes, a traditional, high quality brand.
