Brother of John Brocklebank
1801 On the death of Daniel, Thomas and John took on the family shipbuilding and shipping business in Whitehaven.
1819 Thomas Brocklebank moved to Liverpool and opened an office for Thomas and John Brocklebank there.
1829 The Brocklebanks began trading to China but on an irregular basis.
1831 John Brocklebank was killed by a fall from his horse. His nephew, Thomas Fisher (later Brocklebank), son of their sister Anne Fisher, moved to Liverpool to assist his uncle in the family business.
Prior to 1843 he lived at Sandfield, near Liverpool
1843 Thomas made his nephew, Thomas, and cousin, Ralph, partners in the firm. He had moved back to Whitehaven[1]
