1902 Obituary [1]
THOMAS BOWEN died at Llwyn-yr-Eryr on May 4, 1902, aged seventy-four years. He was born at Neath, and in 1881 he became interested in the Morriston tin-plate works, near Swansea, and in 1882 he was appointed manager.
He subsequently disposed of his interests in the concern, and afterwards was largely instrumental in restarting the Ashburnham works at Burry Port. He was highly respected for his strict integrity and just dealings. He was one of the largest holders of Swansea Harbour bonds.
