THOMAS BLACKLOCK was born in 1878 and received his education at the Blackburn Technical College. He served his apprenticeship with [[Yates and Thom|Messrs. Yates and Thom, Ltd.]], engine builders, of Blackburn, from 1894 to 1899, in whose employment he continued as junior draughtsman for a further four years. THOMAS BLACKLOCK was born in 1878 and received his education at the Blackburn Technical College. He served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Yates and Thom, Ltd., engine builders, of Blackburn, from 1894 to 1899, in whose employment he continued as junior draughtsman for a further four years. After three years as senior draughtsman to Messrs. Hick, Hargreaves and Company, Ltd., of Bolton, he was appointed draughtsman and engineer to Messrs. Browett, Lindley and Company, Ltd., of Manchester.
