Thomas Ashley (1887-1935)

Thomas Ashley was born in 1887, and after passing his Inter B.Sc. examination at Liverpool University, was apprenticed with Mather and Platt, Ltd.
From there he went to Belsize Motors, Ltd., as Draughtsman, and subsequently as Jig Designer with Edward Wood and Co., Ltd., Salford.
In 1912 he was appointed Chief Engineer and Superintendent of the Motor Vehicle Dept. of the Guardians of Manchester Union, and retained this position until his death, which took place on 10th October, 1935, at the age of 48.
He was elected an Associate Member in 1929.
