THOMAS ALFRED BULKLEY, born at Chelsea on the 11th December, 1843, died in the Riviera on the 6th November, 1912.
Trained under the late Sir Joseph Bazalgette, he went to Bombay in 1862 and became Assistant Engineer and subsequently Executive Engineer on the Bombay Municipal Drainage Works. He then took up extensive contract work until 1870, when he left India for British Columbia. After carrying out varied engineering work there, he returned to India in 1878, and was again appointed to the staff of the Bombay Municipality.
From 1879 to 1893 he was engaged in contracting work in India, chiefly in Bombay.
Mr. Bulkley was elected an Associate of The Institution on the 6th May, 1873, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 4th November, 1879.
