The Tendring Hundred Waterworks Company owned the Walton-on-the-Naze Gasworks, and installed a gasholder station at Kirby Cross.
1932 A bulk supply of gas was delivered to Kirby Cross by a gas main from Clacton; gas making at Walton then ceased.
1948 One of the composite companies recognised under the 1948 Gas Act
1949 Vested in Eastern Gas Board, leaving the Water Company to continue as such.
1989 Tendring Hundred Water Services Ltd was established as one of the privatised water-only supply companies.
Acquired by Compagnie Generale des Eaux
