1935 Public company incorporated to acquire and amalgamate[1] 4 house building companies:

1943 Acquired Greenham Plant Hire Co Ltd; also owned Taylor Woodrow Plant Co Ltd and Builders Supply Co Ltd[2]

1943 Because of the increase in contracting and civil engineering work, the name was changed by removing the word "Estates" from the title[3] - See Taylor Woodrow
