Sydney Walker Barnaby
Sydney Walker Barnaby (1855-1925) of Thornycroft, Naval architect or engineer.
Born the son of Nathaniel Barnaby
1893 John I. Thornycroft and S. W. Barnaby noticed a problem that they diagnosed as cavitation, during trials of a 27-knot 'Daring' class torpedo-boat destroyer.
1911 Living at Courtfield, Hulse Road, Southampton: Sydney W. Barnaby (age 55 born Pimlico), Naval Architect and Technical Director in Shipbuilding Co. With his wife Lylla E. Barnaby (age 52 born Dorking) and their children Kenneth C. Barnaby (age 24 born Chiswick), Draughtsman in Shipbuilding Co., and Alison E. M. Barnaby (age 16 born Chiswick). Also cousin and three servants.[1]
