LAMPLUGH, Councillor Sydney Augustus; b. May 27th, 1870, at Edgbaston; s. of James Alfred Lamplugh. Educ.: Privately and Solihull Grammar School. For many years connected with Messrs. Middlemore and Lamplugh, later managing director of Messrs. S. A. Lamplugh, Ltd., now retired; president of League of Nations, King's Heath branch; president of Cocksmoors Golf Club; President Moseley Division Unionist Association; on committee of Gracewell Homes, Foster Trust; president of King's Heath (Parks) Tennis Club. Elected Birmingham City Council (Moseley and King's Heath), November, 1923; Council Committees, Public Assistance (Drainage Board), Parks; m. Ellen Cecile, d. of late Alfred Gilmer, January 24th, 1895; two s. one d. (second son killed in France, March 6th, 1917). Recreation: Golf. Clubs: Moseley Golf, Old Library.
