1954 Sterling Foundry Specialties advertised Sterling Safway scaffolding[1]

Sterling was acquired by Birmid who were then bought by Blue Circle who sold off the foundry businesses.

2009 ThyssenKrupp sold its Safway industrial services unit to an American private equity company[2]
