1882 Company first registered by Alfred Hickman (1830-1910)

1882 August 26th. Hickman formed the Staffordshire Steel and Ingot Iron Co, producing steel using the Bessemer process.

1897 The company was amalgamated with the Springvale Furnaces to become Alfred Hickman, and the Spring Vale site continued to expand.
