Southern Punjab Railway
A railway in India of 5 feet 6 inches gauge
1895 The Southern Punjab Railway Company was formed with Bradford Leslie as chairman to build a line from Delhi to Samasata, about 400 miles to the west. Horace Bell was the consulting engineer in London for the construction.
Several extension lines (e.g. Jullunder, Sutlej Valley) extended the length to 502 miles(803 km).
The railway was worked by the North Western State Railway.
