Pupil of William Thompson, of Grantham, Haydor, etc. Engineering Assistant to the late Alfred Morant, Borough Engr. of Leeds; Borough Surveyor of Grantham, 1876, associated with the late James Mansergh in the Grantham main outfall sewer works and laying out the Sewage Farm, £23,000. Passed the examination of the Sanitary Institute. Second-in-Command, London Fire Brigade, 1892-1918; pensioned. Chief Works: Grantham main drainage; Grantham river improvement and bathing place. Publications: " Shoring and Underpinning "; " How to deal with Different Kinds of Fires." Club: Camera, 17, John Street, Adelphi, and Bedford Park, W. War Services.—Constant duty at headquarters of the London Fire Brigade, and attended fires and damages by air raids.
