1861 Samuel Mason 47, fire engine manufacturer, was living in Reigate Foreign, with his father, Samuel Mason 76, a land owner, his wife Charlotte Mason 42, and children Charlotte E Mason 7, Caroline Mason 6, Robert Mason 6, Sarah Mason 4, Mary Mason 3, Maria E Mason 1[2]

1879 Retired from Shand, Mason and Co and died in Hambledon[3]; one of his executors was William Joshua Mason, engineer[4]
