1795 Born at Birmingham the son of Samuel Lloyd (1768-1849), a Banker, and his wife Rachel Braithwaite (1768-1854). Brother to Sampson Lloyd
c.1818 Samuel went to live in Wednesbury in order to exploit the family’s land for coal and iron production.
c.1821 The Lloyds, Foster firm was formed to oversee mining operations at Wednesbury.
1823 Samuel Lloyd married Mary Honychurch in Plympton
1835 Partner in establishing the Old Park Works, Wednesbury, which later included collieries and blast-furnaces
1851 Living at Wood Green, Wednesbury: Samuel Lloyd (age 55 born Birmingham), Coal and Iron Master. With his wife Mary Lloyd (age 56 born Falmouth) and their children; Mary Lloyd (age 24 born Wednesbury); Samuel Lloyd (age 23 born Wednesbury), Coal and Iron Master; Joseph Lloyd (age 17 born Wednesbury), Clerk; and Ann Lloyd (age 13 born Wednesbury).
