"Samuel Groves and Co Limited, part of the Metalrax plc group of Companies, has been established at various factories in Birmingham, the heart of the West Midlands, since at least 1826.

Now the largest manufacturer of Catering products in the UK, the Longlife and Mermaid trade names have been satisfying the appetite of the Catering Trade for well over 150 years.

The Longlife trade name was established in the manufacture of Aluminium Pots and Pans in 1912, when Aluminium as raw material was the latest in "cutting edge" "must have" material and Longlife Black Iron pans were manufactured a long while prior to that.

From the UK's leading manufacturer came the Mermaid trade name in 1953. This well respected trade name is synonymous now with quality Baking Trays, manufactured from Aluminium, which now features a superb, Hard Anodised or Non-Stick finish".
